Conduct the 1:1 Annual Review Meeting (Manager)

Tip:

Effective managers create relationships with each of their directs. And the best way we know to make that happen is to have regular one-on-ones. Be sure to schedule your one-on-one meeting with your team member to review their results and all comments in person. Before you meet with your team members, review the rest of this article to see our recommended 1:1 Annual Review Meeting agenda.

To start your 1:1 annual review meeting, go to the team member’s plan > open the Development tab dropdown > select the Annual Review.

You can also see a complete list of annual reviews for yourself and your team. Go to the three-bar menu in the upper-left  > open Leadership Development Annual Reviews > select Annual Review List. Find the team member > click the three-dot for the check-in with the correct date range > select Overview > in the overview screen, click 1:1 Meeting and Complete Review.

Here is our standard Annual Review Meeting agenda, which follows the steps in the software. You can modify this process to fit your scenario. but you will need to complete this meeting in the software to finalize the annual review.
1. Discuss their goal/project results. Review each item’s results and discuss any discrepancies or comments. You can view the team member's and your comments by opening the Result slide-out. When finished with all their goals and projects, click the Next button.

Show how their work connects to the larger purpose of the organization. Assume the role of “coach” rather than “commander.” When finished, click Next.

Note:

The Result scores for Goals and Projects are weighted averages. The Leadership Results are straight averages. The final Result score is also a weighted average.

4. Complete the review meeting. Clicking Complete formally closes the annual review meeting in the system.
Once you click Complete, the team member will gain access to this screen so they can confirm the review.

Important:

To complete the annual review process, the team member must check the checkbox which confirms they have met with the team leader. Provide your team members with this article so they can complete their step
