How to Sort Items in a List

Many screens with lists have a sort option to reorder your items by different variables.

The specific sort options available depend on the screen you are viewing. For example, for work breakdowns you can sort by Name, Forecast End Date, Stage, etc.

NOTE: If you change a sort, your sort option will persist when you leave and come back to a screen. However, the sort option will not affect others' views of the same screen.

Common Screens with Sort

  • Breakdowns

  • My Messages

  • My Meetings

  • Dashboards

Edit Sorts

You can edit sorts, but these changes will only be visible to you.

Open the sort option > click Edit Sorts > in the Edit Sorts screen, click the blue plus add button > and select Add a new sort.

To create a new sort,

  1. Name the sort
  2. Click the blue plus to add a sort variable
  3. Select the field you wish to sort by
  4. Select if it should be sorted ascending or descending
  5. Select if you want to group sorted items by the field (for example, grouped by Responsible Name will group all items owned by a specific user)

NOTE: sorting logic flows top to bottom, so in the example below, the system will first sort and group by responsible name, and then sort by state within that group.

This sort applied to an example breakdown below shows how the sort works.
