Positions

The Positions screen in LeadFirst.ai allows users to create position templates for any or all of a company’s current positions. Position templates serve as a foundation for defining roles within the organization. Follow the steps below to create and manage position templates:

Creating a Position Template

  1. Access the Positions Screen:
    • Navigate to the Positions section within LeadFirst.ai.
    • Click the blue-plus icon located in the upper-right corner to create a new position.
  2. Name the Position:
    • In the New Position screen, provide a descriptive name for the position template.
    • Choose a name that reflects the role or job title associated with the position.
  3. Add a Description:
    • Enter a brief description of the position.
    • This description should help other users understand the responsibilities, qualifications, and purpose of the position.
    • Be concise but informative.
  4. Select a Position Plan Template:
    • Associate the position template with an existing position plan template.
    • Position plan templates define the ongoing responsibilities (MORs), projects, and expectations for individuals in a specific role.
    • Choose a relevant plan template from the available options.
    • The default option is Individual Plan.

Learn: you can create plan templates from the Templates screen. To get there, open the main menu on the left > Administration > open Templates.

To learn more, see the article Templates.

Applying Position Templates

  • When creating a new user account within LeadFirst.ai, the system automatically assigns the basic Individual Plan template to a user with no position defined.
  • When you assign a position to a user....
    • LeadFirst.ai identifies the associated position template (e.g., “Sales Manager Template”).
    • The user receives a personalized plan based on the predefined projects and goals outlined in the position plan template.
    • This ensures consistency and alignment across the organization.

Best Practices

  • Keep position templates up to date:
    • Regularly review and update position templates to reflect any changes in roles, responsibilities, or organizational structure.
    • Ensure that descriptions accurately represent the position’s purpose.
  • Customize as needed:
    • While position templates provide a standard framework, feel free to customize individual plans for specific users.
    • Adjust goals, tasks, and expectations based on unique circumstances.
